Psalms 143:1-12
This Psalm is David at the end of a rope. He is in a situation facing overwhelming trouble. In other words he reached a point where all he has is a prayer. So he prays to God to restore his hope and save him from his situation. We all have been in situations where we are at the bottom and all we can do is lookup.
Every situation is different, sometimes it is financial, it could be a relationship, it can be a job, or a million other things. All we can do is get on our knees, confess our sins and look up to God for the answers.
Psalms 142 also describes this like being in prison. At those times we may feel isolated and alone. I am here to tell you, you are not alone! Jesus, our Lord and savior is with us and will help you out. He will and has helped me out.
The Lord will be our refuge, friend and our comforter. Cry out to Him and let Him do the heavy lifting.
Amen!

Today's devotional
Psa 8:1-2
1 O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!
2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.
Like in verse 1. we must always recognize the Covenant name of God. (LORD) also known as YAHWEH. We must also recognize His position to us His people Lord. It is the most simplest and straightforward way to say Our God is our master.
David's recognized way back then, that God was more than just the Covenant God of Israel. His name is excellent in all the earth. Praise the Lord it is!.
The earth is not enough to measure the glory of God. God is so much more than the earth or us who are on it. His glory is above the heavens (universe).
Vs 2) God's strength is shown through and seen in small children. But can also see as they grow the corruption of sin has taken also.
David here is showing how God uses the weak to show His glory & strength. Just like in 1st Corinthians 1:27
1Co 1:27
27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
This also states God uses the weak to show His glory and strength.
As humans we can't think of anything more weak and helpless than a baby. Have you ever noticed someone can be mad or upset, but when a baby enters the room they turn so soft and gentle. That's the strength of God at work.
So in our weakness God has made us so strong and will help us through it all.
Jesus quoted this passage to His indignant accusers in Matthew 21:16
16 and said to Him, "Do You hear what these are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES AND NURSING INFANTS YOU HAVE PERFECTED PRAISE'?"
When Jesus did miracles near the temple the children praised Him.
Mat 21:15
15 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" they were indignant
Because of your enemies, that you may silence the enemy.
God shows His strength through vessels we would not choose, because it silences the enemy. The enemy can't come back and say anything when this happens. It just makes the enemy mad. The enemy can't match that kind of strength through weak vessels.
So know when you are the weakest, is when God is showing His strength the strongest through you and your children.
The story of Job showed this by how God sustained Job through his profound weakness, and silenced Job's accusers.
By quoting Matt 21:15-16 Jesus was announcing who He is and who they are.
